Borderline was selected to participate in a project benefitting small businesses in the Excelsior neighborhood of San Francisco.
The SF Shines Holiday Display Project aims to activate small business storefronts during the holiday season by providing creative, eye-catching storefront displays.
The project goals are to:
- build the capacity of neighborhood-serving small businesses through improved branding and visibility
- connect small businesses to local artists and encourage the use of art and design in small business spaces
- improve the pedestrian experience by creating visual interest, promoting storefront transparency, and providing increased lighting
- attract new customers to the corridor with coordinated events
Artists and designers work directly with local small businesses to design, create, and install temporary holiday window displays that reflect the brand and goods or services offered by the business. The installations are not for sale to the public and are the property of the small business.
Stop by and take a look! The displays will be up at McGarden Bakery and Little Joe's Pizza, both on Mission near the intersection of Geneva, through the new year.
